Product Details:

Peppermint is an aromatic herb in the mint family. Peppermint oil can be extracted from the leaves of the peppermint plant and is used for a variety of purposes. It has a sharp odor that’s cool and refreshing. This helps to decrease the trapping of air and other bowel contents and relieves abdominal bloating, wind, discomfort and pain.

After oral administration, peppermint is rapidly absorbed. Menthol is highly fat-soluble therefore rapidly absorbed from the proximal gut

Antispasmodic effect of peppermint oil is largely mediated by its menthol constituent.  Peppermint oil relaxes gastrointestinal smooth muscle and attenuates contractile responses by reducing the influx of extracellular calcium ions.

Peppermint oil capsules can relax the smooth muscles of the digestive tract, which helps relieve pain, bloating, gas, and cramps associated with IBS.

It can help with general indigestion and may help maintain a normal intestinal transit time.

Peppermint oil has antispasmodic properties, helping to relieve muscle spasms in the gut.

The recommended dose is:

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age

One capsule 3 times a day

Method of administration:

For oral use. The capsules must be swallowed whole with liquid i.e. not broken, crushed or chewed. They must be taken 30 minutes before a meal.
